Consensus recommendations for botulinum toxin injections in the spasticity management of children with cerebral palsy during COVID-19 outbreak

Spasticity is the most common motor disturbance in cerebral palsy (CP). Lockdown COVID-19 outbreak has profoundly changed daily routines, and similarly caused suspension of spasticity treatment plans. Besides, delay botulinum toxin (BoNT) injection, which important management focal spasticity, led to some problems children. This consensus report includes BoNT injection recommendations during pandemic children with CP. In order develop report, physical medicine rehabilitation (PMR) specialists experienced field pediatric injections were invited by Pediatric Rehabilitation Association. Items prepared adapted Delphi technique PMR specialists. Then they asked physicians (PMR specialist, orthopedists, neurologists) or (pediatric infectious disease, adult disease). conclusion, experts agree that conservative approaches for may be initial steps before injections. can administered CP appropriate indications necessary precautions pandemic.
